Who We Are

History

Get to know more about what makes us different.

The idea for LEAD for Christ began in 1999, during a mission trip in Africa, when founder Jerry Brown learned about the struggles of pastors, especially their lack of financial resources to attend formal Bible training.

During that mission trip, Jerry was hosted by a local pastor and seminary teacher, Stephen Bamoleke. Through the working of the Holy Spirit, Jerry and Stephen formed a partnership to develop a training ministry to African pastors, called Leadership Vistas International Ministries.
After many successful training conferences, Leadership Vistas developed a Train the Trainer(T3)
program. In the T3 program, we identify pastors and ministry leaders in each community, that receive
additional higher level training that equips them to take all that they have learned in the program and
implement a training program in their local community, effectively reaching hundreds more pastors.

Jerry Brown retired from Leadership Vistas in 2015. Co- founder Stepehen Bamoleke still serves with the
ministry as the Director of African Operations.
In 2023, the leadership team changed our name to LEAD for Christ – Leaders Equipping African Disciples
as the Lord led us to pursue a name that more fully described the work we are doing in Africa.
