KENYA
Kenya is a key area of Africa because of its stability, but on account of widespread corruption it is plagued by international terrorists and drug traffickers. RWANDA

Rwanda is known primarily for its genocide in 1994, the result of a longstanding conflict between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes, but Rwanda has made great advances in its development and stability in recent years, and across the country communities participate in a monthly national day of community service.

UGANDA
In recent years Uganda has become infamous for the Lord’s Resistance Army and its elusive leader Joseph Kony. This conflict has killed over 100,000 people and displaced almost 2 million, half of whom are currently living in poverty in refugee camps. Furthermore, it has brutalized thousands of child soldiers and sex slaves who were forced to serve in his army. Nevertheless, church attendance and interest in Christianity have been high.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Because of inter-tribal warfare and widespread corruption, in recent years the DRC has become one of the world’s poorest countries. It has an almost non-existent infrastructure, including roads, basic utilities, and government. Rape and torture are commonly used by rival militias to terrorize villages. Although 90% of the Congolese people profess Christianity, brutality, witchcraft, and evil rule over the land. There have been more deaths here in recent years than in any conflict since World War II.
