When African economies followed the U.S. and other countries in "locking down" it has had catastrophic impact on most Africans. Schools and churches were closed. Most businesses were closed. Even essential workers were prohibited from travel and had to camp at their workplaces! Without means to earn money, most faced immediate food crises. Our Executive Director spoke to a pastor one day and asked about the food situation - thinking of inflation. The pastor explained that they hadn't eaten in three days. He said he had managed to scrounge up some cane sugar that he hacked into pieces for his 7 children to suck on. That's when we knew we had to try to help.

To date, Leadership Vistas has raised tens of thousands of dollars that we used to provide direct food assistance to the most needy families in our network. Even though we're through 2021 and 2022, we are still receiving requests for help with food - especially from pastors and church leaders who have taken in the care of orphans in Uganda and Kenya. These orphan children are without sufficient food, and some even are without sufficient clothing. Sadly, we are unable to respond to most of these requests because of limited finances. If you can help, you cannot imagine what a blessing it will be for you to empower Leadership Vistas to provide much needed food and clothing to the hundreds of orphans we have received requests for.
